NG Wing Yin (Didi) - FLOW
FLOW on puinen lepotuoli, joka on valmistettu koivuvanerista ja massiivipuusta. Sen ontto rakenne korostaa vaneriosan luomaa jännitettä ja lujuutta. Suoraviivainen jalkarakenne muodostaa tehokkaan kontrastin istuinosan kaareville linjoille. Tyhjä tila niiden välissä synnyttää visuaalisen tasapainon ja harmonisen lopputuloksen.
Alunperin Hong Kongista kotoisin oleva Didi opiskelee parhaillaan sisustusarkkitehtuurin MA-ohjelmassa Aalto yliopistossa. Tilojen, kalusteiden ja muiden esineiden suunnittelun lisäksi häntä kiehtoo myös taide. Tutkimalla muodon ja estetiikan suhdetta, hän pyrkii luomaan esineitä, jotka herättävät mielenkiinnon ja stimuloivat aisteja.
FLOW is a wooden lounge chair constructed with birch plywood and solid wood. Its hollow structure celebrates the tension and strength created by the plywood. The geometric wooden base is a distinct contrast to the curvature of the seat. The void between them creates a sense of visual balance and thus a harmonious result.
Originally from Hong Kong, Didi is currently studying for an MA in interior architecture at Aalto University. In addition to the design of spaces, furniture and other objects, he is also focused on art. Through exploring the relationship of form and aesthetic, he enjoys creating design that awakens people’s interest and gently stimulates human senses.
